The plant was constructed in 1999 in order to pre-treat the inflows from tanneries and slaughterhouses that enters the domestic waste water treatment plant of the city of Rethimno.

Among the equipment there were installed three rotary drums screens and also two DAF units each with capacity 30 m3/hr.

 

Each screen operates with flow 50 m3/hr and removes any solid with diameter more than 0.5 mm.

 

Each DAF treats 30 m3/hr of waste water coming from tanneries. The installation also includes chemical dosing station, sludge pumps and electrical automation boards. The efficiency in removal floating substances is more than 95%.
